The Department of Justice Campus Program supports institutions of higher education committed to adopting a comprehensive, community-coordinated response (CCR) to sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence and stalking.

St. Bonaventure University benefits from the program grant through the enhancement of our campus victim services, campus law enforcement, health and victim services, mandatory education and links to local criminal justice agencies and service providers.

Students Empowered as peer educators

Empower is a student peer prevention educator group in which peer educators serve as ambassadors for sexual assault, dating/domestic violence, and stalking prevention, and for victim services initiatives for the Division of Student Affairs, the Sexual Assault Prevention & Education program, and for the entire campus community.

Through a variety of peer-led initiatives, peer educators provide education, training, self-reflection and more to students and student groups through a variety of initiatves, such as:

• The Clothesline Project, in which student-designed T-shirts promoting the dignity of each person and the prevention of hate and violence are hung on a clothesline on campus.
• Denim Day, when the campus community is encouraged to wear jeans to show support for survivors of sexual violence.
